Jean Foillard “Fleurie”, Morgon 2010

These 45-50 year old vines planted in pink sandstone soil produce a deliciously complex, deep, silky Morgon beaujolais. It’s probably extra beautiful because Jean & Agnès Foillard seem to really have a knack for listening to their grapes and letting them express themselves as naturally as possible. Although this is a classy, sophisticated beaujolais that seemingly leans towards a Burgundy, it remains lively, straightforward and very friendly. For all times!
