Jean Foillard “Fleurie”, Morgon 2010

/home/wpcom/public_html/wp-content/blogs.dir/45a/12206980/files/2015/01/img_3927.jpgThese 45-50 year old vines planted in pink sandstone soil produce a deliciously complex, deep, silky Morgon beaujolais. It’s probably extra beautiful because Jean & Agnès Foillard seem to really have a knack for listening to their grapes and letting them express themselves as naturally as possible in the glass. Although this is a classy, sophisticated beaujolais that seemingly leans towards a Burgundy, it remains lively, straightforward and very friendly. For all times.
