Alexandre Jouveaux, Vin de Table “Prety” 2012

IMG_3639.JPGAn ex-Chanel photographer decides to leave Paris and purchase some vines, eventually acquiring enough to cultivate 2 White Burgundies. Although he’s relatively new to the game, he seems to be able to play off the creamy, subtle stereotype and lure his tasters into his natural, unfiltered counterparts, which are inherently livelier, zestier and in general possessing more direct expression. Maybe it’s his photographic sensitivity to light, or his appreciation of texture, but Alexandre Jouveaux seems to understand how to bring elegance to a natural wine, and without undermining the rich and long history of the region’s production before him.
